A bountiful First Friday is set for November 4th

So many stops to make during the evening of First Friday Denton this November 4th.  Here are the suggestions on who and what to see:


Bearded Monk at 122 W. McKinney Street, in conjunction with DentonRadio.com, will host a Tapping of beers with the owners of Braindead Brewing. DentonRadio will interview Sam Wynn and Jeff Fryeman at 7pm and they’ll be hanging out at Bearded Monk all before their momentous 2nd Anniversary Festicle party.

A Creative Art Studio, 227 W. Oak, invites you out to their First Friday celebration with a featured artists, musicians, a community art project and lots of great work by local artists to see and shop for while you are there. Stop in between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for the fun. Check out www.acreativeartstudio.com

Discover Denton Welcome Center, 111 W. Hickory, will host the Lost Poet Lounge from 7 to 9 p.m. on First Friday.

Greater Denton Arts Council, 400 E. Hickory features Heroes in the Making from 6:00 – 10:00 pm.  Admission is FREE and the following events take place in the Patterson Appleton Arts Center:

6:00 PM Cartoonaoke & Games in the Gallery

7:00 PM Super Hero Costume Contest – Enter to win our Super Hero Costume Contest with guest judge Jessie Frye (all ages welcome)

7:30 PM Screening of Superman (1978) starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, and Gene Hackman.


Heroes in the Making: The Art of Comic Production is on view at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center until December 10. The exhibition is presented in partnership with More Fun Comics & Games, Freaks and Geeks, Texas Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and the City of Denton. SCRAP x UNT CVAD invites everyone to join them for a First Friday art show featuring UNT’s College of Visual Arts and Design students’ soft sculptures! Come check out the best and brightest of design students’ work – all sculptures will be available to buy and take. Stop by SCRAP Denton this Friday, Nov. 4th, 6pm to 8pm at 420 S. Bell Ave. Live music, food, drinks, and a make and take craft will be provided!  Visit www.scrapdenton.org for details on SCRAP.


UNT on the Square, 109 Elm Street will have extended hours on Friday, Nov. 4th for First Friday. Come by and see the great works in the gallery.  For more info on the gallery, check out www.untonthesquare.unt.edu .

Vintage Bleu, 221 W. Oak, will be open extended hours on Friday, Nov. 4th and will serve wine and sweets.

And, don’t forget, every First Friday stop in to Mellow Mushroom Denton for dinner or a drink between 6 pm to 8 pm and spin the prize wheel.
