A Creative Art Studio will have Sketch Artist Gregory Conlin doing portraits from 5-9. If you want to have a sitting earlier, please contact our studio at 940 442-1251. Simone Nicole, singer-songwriter, will be performing from 7-9 at the studio. Come meet with friends and look at beautiful art August 6, 2010.

As we know, Bushwhacker’s Wine Safari is on the move, and more power to them. If you haven’t been to the new restaurants along the Denton Arts Corridor, you are missing some of the most unique dining in Denton.
Join us at A Creative Art Studio for Live Music from 7-9. Adam Cline and Joel Dreistadt will be performing in the Studio from 7-9. Meet with friends, listen to Music and look at beautiful art.
We sent out general information to the members of VAST, and hope they can find a way to be what is a growing movement – FIRST FRIDAY DENTON! Join us for First Friday Denton on May 7th, 2010 at A Creative Art Studio. This will be the Friday before Mother’s Day so check out our original gifts for Mom. We will also be featuring the Music of Vanessa Helvey and David White from 7 – 9 pm. Vanessa is a singer songwriter who is originally from the Texoma area. . David White studied music at the University of North Texas and will be playing madolin and guitar at not only our studio on First Friday on May 7th but with Vanessa at the Arts and Jazz Festival on the Celebration Stage, Saturday, April 24th at 7:00 pm. At this performance bass player, David Shaw, will join them. Vanessa describes her style as Americana/Alternative Country/Folk.
A Creative Art Studio will have live music April 2nd, 2010 for First Friday Denton. Come hear the awesome sounds of Glen Ferris from 7-8 pm. Glen is a talented local musician who plays guitar. He opened one evening at Nx35 and also was on a panel during Nx35 discussing local music. We are very lucky to have him join us in our studio so make your way to 227 W. Oak, Suite 101 around 7 o’clock……..Robin
Well, we have added Bumble Beads and Jupiter House Coffee is going to be added as well. If there’s anyone else you can recommend, please feel free to send them our way.
April 2 Art Glass Ensembles will host a pre-First Friday Denton fused glass Playshop at our studio. This is a single session from 2:00 – 5:00 where people can create fused glass suncatchers or window art. Playshop size is limited to 4. Cost for the 3 hour session (including materials) is $30 per person. Afterwards, we can do an Art Walk with the First Friday Denton participating locations (map included) and end back up at Art Glass Ensembles for coffee, tea, juice or wine. Sign up at 940-591-3002.
If people like this idea, I might make this a monthly Playshop in conjunction with First Friday Denton’s Art Walk.

Thank you to Leslie & Shannon for starting First Friday, and hooking me up with Wine Safari. I think this idea is perfect for Denton. There are so many talented artists in Denton and First Friday is just the way to do it!! I had a great experience at Wine Safari, and thank you to Virgil & Amanda for hosting me. They have a cool store, it’s a relaxing place to hangout. I’m looking forward to FFD in April.
