FROM VALERIE CLEGG at the Chestnut Tree –
We will be featuring the following artist for the months of April and May. Be open Thursday through Saturday 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., April 4-6
Bethany Royston is a stay at home mom and self taught artist. With the support of her loving family she’s been blessed to follow her dreams of becoming an artist. She’s had showings around the Denton area and specializes in custom pieces which have sold internationally. She loves God and art and especially the combination of the two!
With a passion for Day of the Dead, kitsch, and an eclectic mix of different cultures she uses acrylics and mixed media as her medium of choice. She gravitates towards very bright colors and whimsical images and uses her love of nature as an inspiration. You can check out her Etsy page at https://www.etsy.com/shop/BethanyRoystonArt. 10% of all sales are donated to the buyer’s choice of charity.
For all the First Friday Denton participants – please have your announcements in by midnight Wednesday before First Friday. You can pretty much count on it not being published if it doesn’t arrive by Wednesday.
We obviously have some great new participants, and I took the opportunity of changing the look of the site to also add the newcomers to the site. Many of the kinks that had been finding their way into the site I’ve ironed out as well. Please join me in welcoming Atomic Candy, Seven Mile Cafe and SCRAP Denton. We also now have a permanent spot for The Chestnut Tree Tea Room. Not only do you have links in the sidebar, you will find a description of your businesses on pages that most closely match your “category” of business. As always, First Friday Denton benefits from links from you just like you benefit from links going your way from First Friday Denton.
As you peruse the new site, there is a sidebar on the right, and there is also information at the bottom. In the right sidebar, along with everything else, are the links for everyone involved. IF you have been missed, or want to be added, you will want to let me know.
Just in time for tomorrow’s First Friday, the Chestnut Tree will be open until 8-pm tomorrow night, and is featuring the original art from the Visual Society of Texas’ calendar art winners.
The Chestnut Tree Garden Tea Room is located on the Square at 107 W. Hickory Street, and their phone number is 940-591-9475.
Please join me in welcoming the Chestnut Tree to First Friday Denton, the biggest ongoing event in Denton, Texas!
