first friday denton texas
Mother Nature sends North Texas her season’s greetings, and when Mother Nature talks, we must listen! First Friday Denton, the oldest ongoing retail event in 21st Century Denton, Texas, will be rescheduled for Friday December 13, 2013 – 12/13/13 almost too much luck to ignore for one date. This is the first time ever FFD has been rescheduled.
By then there will be plenty of folks champing at the bit to get out and partake in all the festivities planned for next Friday, and I am confident the businesses that participate will have even bigger plans for the 13th. than they would have had today.

Join A Creative Art STUDIO for an evening of music, art and fun. This month the music will be provided by Darrin Kobetich (Ft Worth) and Mark Brandt (Dallas). Both Darrin and Mark have performed at the studio and are a definite crowd pleaser. This month the studio “keeps it in the family” in that the featured artist of the month is Rosalie Kobetich, Darrin’s mother. She brings her western style to the studio featuring works in color pencils, watercolors, oil and graphite. The studio will have a collage community art project for all to work on as well as art demonstrations. Grab a friend and come join the fun at 227 W Oak Street.

Summer is upon us, and that’s when the days get longer and the nights get cooler. This First Friday is no different, so be sure to come check out the happenings Friday, June 7, in Denton.
Rusty’s Taco is now open, and they were packed last night. Be sure to make the rounds and check them – and all the First Friday participants – out tomorrow evening.
We do have one less business, as Cellar 22 is now closed. As is typical in any area; with loss comes gain, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for that location on Hickory street. There’s a lot happening down Hickory, and there’s a lot still to happen along that strip of buildings, so take a stroll down that way, or walk off the Rusty’s Taco Friday evening!
If your business is part of the First Friday event, please feel free to let us know what you’re up to tomorrow! Summertime is the right time to get involved with First Friday Denton if you’ve been thinking about being a part of First Friday – with your business, or as a volunteer, or a creative content volunteer provider.
